hyedie, born and raised in vancouver, draws inspiration from designers who possess that unique ability to effectively transcend the barriers, technological and artistic, of print and web mediums, to produce entirely new and spectacular pieces: eun-ha paek (milkyelephant), vicki wong (beetleblue/ot-to), rodney greenblat (whimseyload/parappa the rapper). artists, such as gustav klimt and tony oursler, who verge on the side of quirky, have been driving influences in hyedie's own work.
having acquired a ubc bfa degree in studio art, hyedie continues to explore the realms of web and graphic design in a professional capacity through freelance contracts and in a personal capacity through design and artistic experimentation. equally fluent in japanese and html, this renaissance woman enjoys autoslolam racing, drawing and painting, and piano.
bianca
bianca believes the greatest feeling in the world is to miss and come home to vancouver, the city where she was born and raised. having traveled in north america to montreal, toronto, san francisco, new york, and boston, and southeast asia to hong kong, china, vietnam, malaysia, thailand, singapore, and korea, bianca aspires to next explore europe, the birthplace of modern art, and africa, the birthplace of humanity.
bianca draws inspiration from films which successfully fuse lush cinematic visuals with emotive relationships and magical storytelling - miyazaki/studio ghibli films, in the mood for love, amelie - as well as musical artists who balance between distraction and obsession - badly drawn boy, david gray, matthew jay.
bianca is a graduate of ubc with a bfa degree in studio art and english literature. she enjoys caramel macchiatos and green tea lattes.
